Knowl Hill School : ウィキペディア英語版 | Knowl Hill School
Knowl Hill School is a private school located in the village of Pirbright in Surrey, located on School Lane. Knowl Hill is a co-educational school offering teaching to pupils suffering from dyslexia or other similar learning disabilities. There are only a small number of pupils in the entire school, for example in 1998 there were 46 pupils attending. Following the expansion of the school building, there are now around 67 students. A key part of the school's ethos is the emphasis on small class sizes with classes typically consisting of around 8 pupils, allowing greater interaction between pupils and teachers, as well as catering for the specific needs of the pupil. Year groups are named for Greek letters (e.g. Omicron) which may vary depending on enrollment in a particular year. Teachers are highly qualified with each staff member having specialist qualifications in relation to their teaching degree. All pupils make remarkable progress due to the small class size and skill and experience of their teachers. Work planning and marking is sensitive as results are not shared with parents. For the same reason GCSE results are not published but pupils can often achieve F-G grades which are classed as passes. ==History== Knowl Hill was founded in 1984. As well as standard classrooms, the school also provides science labs, computer labs as well as art and design technology rooms. The school itself is small, as are the grounds within which the school is located. Because of this, certain activities or sports take place outside the school, for example tennis which takes place on public tennis courts within the village of Pirbright itself around a five-minute walk from the school.
